A functioning farm in its fifth generation has been passed down through the Andrews family. Over the years, it has provided the Andrews family and Their neighbors locally and internationally with food, fiber, tobacco, forestry products, and entertainment.

Learn more about Fuquay Varina. When I was a little child growing up in this area, I used to imitate my father by walking on the newly plowed fields and following in his footsteps. During his free time, he enjoyed watching the crops develop, seeing the storms blow in, and scooping up birds when he and his friends went hunting. He educated me on how to be a parent, a farmer, a leader, and an outdoorsman in adoration of the land and the significance of passing it on. He also taught me the value of passing it on to the next generation. The land is a true treasure that should be cherished and loved for all God made here, which should be recognized.

While working in these fields, I always longed for the cool morning and the flock of birds in the hedge grove, the ducks in the creek bottom, or the giant buck in the low grounds. My hobby of hunting would help me get through the long days I had to spend driving the tractor. It wasn’t the meat or the trophies I collected or the trips to other states in search of adventure that kept me coming back to hunting; instead, it was the friends I made and the memories I made.

When I returned from college, one of my first thoughts was always about a place, precisely my place, Drake Landing. All the people I could meet here, the children I could teach to appreciate nature, the lands I could give to my children, and all the memories I could make here are why I want to live here.

The development of Drake Landing is still in its early stages. They are constantly expanding and introducing new activities that anyone can participate in. Whether you’re here to hunt quail, chukar, or pheasant, shoot sporting clays, or practice your archery skills, they hope you’ll take the time to create a memorable experience and meet new people.
